New Service - Optimize Sites

I have started working for a company that will optimize your site at very reasonable prices. In just one week, he's increased my links tremendously. As of this morning the number of back links in Yahoo to your christian events site has increased from 59 to 66 and the number in MSN has increased from 19 to 90. As I just stated, this is in just one week. If you would like the same kind of results, please feel free to email me.

Has God spoke to you today?

How can people say that there is no God, when he speaks to us every day? I'm not talking about words our ears can understand. I'm talking about how the birds sound first thing in the morning, or the sound of our children playing and having fun. That is how God speaks to me sometimes. I was sitting in the living room this morning enjoying the quiet of the house when I heard some geese. It was so beautiful, so calming. It was my daily reminder that God is alive and watching over me. It was my reminder that I should be thankful for this day He gave me. He never promised me tomorrow, I've heard that saying all my life, and I believe it. We all make plans for the future, I do that also. Why can't we live for today and still make plans for tomorrow as well? Our life on this earth is too short to waste thinking and worrying about things we can't control.

I worry about my children and the way this world is heading. What will they have to face as they grow older? Am I teaching them the things they need to know to live right? Am I giving them values that will last all their lives? These are the things I worry about most. Then I realize that all I can do is my best for them and pray it's enough. I try to show them God's love for them. I try to show them how much they are loved by me and my husband. I correct them when they do wrong and praise them when they do right. I try to teach them responsiblity. I try to teach them manners. That's about all I can do, that and pray for God to watch over them. I can't live their lives for them or make their decisions for them. They have to make their own mistakes and live with the consequences, even though everything in me wants to help and make it better.

I didn't mean to get so whatever I was today. Sometimes I get like this. I get to thinking about what all God has done for me and I have to let everyone know how thankful I am. Today is one of those days. I'm thankful for the fact that there is a God that is there watching over me and my family. I'm thankful for the children he's given me to teach and watch grow. I'm thankful for so many things that if I tried to write each one down in a list, it would fill more pages than the entire internet would have room for.

I pray that God blesses you and your family and sincerely hope you have a great day!

Need Your Prayers

I just found out that a cousin of my husband lost their baby today. The child was born 3 months early and had real bad health problems. The funeral is tomorrow morning and I ask that you please remember this family in your prayers. I can't imagine what it would feel like to loose a child, but I do know that all prayers are welcome.

I'm sorry it's not a longer post today, but I'm sure you understand.

Thank you for coming and reading this. I hope you have a blessed day.

3 Cheers for Pepsi

First off, let me state for the record, I am not a Pepsi drinker. Of course, I don't really drink Coke anymore either. But for a change I have to state that Pepsi, has done something I never thought I'd hear a big company do. To keep their workers, they have set up FEMA trailers in the parking lots so they would have some place to live until they could rebuild. After all the bad, we've heard about, it's nice to show some good still remains in the world, even the world of big business. And from a business, it only makes sense, this way they get to keep the trained workers they already have.

3 cheers for Pepsi! Even though they are still thinking of the bottom line, they show that they are thinking of their workers also. I'm very proud of them and had to share this wonderful story.

God Bless.

New Site on the Web

I wanted to take a few minutes and tell you about a new site I just found. It's very new, but shows promise. Your Local Christian Event Calendar. As you have already determined, I have a firm belief in God and I'm glad to know that there is finally one site where I can go to find out what is going on at various churches.

Anyway, I just wanted to share this with you.

God Blessings be with you always.

A Sick Child/A Parent's Love

Right now I'm listening to my youngest child cough, sneeze and sniffle and I know there's not a whole lot I can do to make him feel better. I can give him medicine that should make him feel better, which I've done already and can't give him anymore until much later, and leave the rest in God's hands.

I would give anything to be the one sick instead of my little one and as I think those words to myself, I wonder how many parents say the very same thing. The only difference is I know my child only has a cold and will get better. There are some parents out there that don't have that assurance. They sit there and watch their child get sicker and sicker. I can only imagine what that parent is going through. How much worse is it for them? My children are usually very healthy, and before you say anything, no, I'm not bragging. I'm trying to put myself in someone else's shoes and find I don't like the fit. This has got to be the worst situation a parent can face. There is no one to fight to save their child, no monster to slay to make them get better. All they can do is wait and pray. Not a very pretty picture, is it? I want to always keep my children safe, but I realize that there are some battles that no matter what I do, I can't change the situation and this scares me. My children are a blessing. What would I do if anything happened to them? What would you do if it were your child? Have you ever thought about it?

I do, more often than I want to. This program brings a lot of hard to face facts out into the open for me. It makes me take a hard look at myself. Sometimes what I find isn't very nice. I have to be truthfull here. Sometimes those very same facts make me want to sit here and cry for every parent that is in this position.

As you go to sleep tonight, remember these parents. Keep them in your prayers. They are going through a situation that I wouldn't wish on my worst enemy. Ask for God to be there with them and to let them know that they are not going through this alone. They need comforting as much as the children do, maybe even more so.

God's blessings to you always.

PHP Server

Well, I finally got the PHP Server working correctly on my computer. I thought I'd never get that working, even had friends help me over the internet. Now, I can work on my new web project. I have never been so glad to see an error message in a web page before. It was so nice. I'm sure you don't hear that very often.

The program is going great. I haven't been able to add any more children agencies yet, but one day, maybe. Anyway, if you draw and want to donate your pictures to these children, it would be highly appreciated. As I've told you before, I can't draw. All I can do is cut and paste from other peoples work.

I hope you have a great day and may God keep his hand on you.

Spam

It has just come to my attention that someone is using my site to send spam email. I want to apologize to anyone that has received something like that. I promise I did not send it. I have also reported it to the FTC and they have stated that they will definitely find out what is going on. I am also going to report it to my state attorney general as well as whoever takes care of Internet Fraud. These emails did not come from this site!

Please accept my apologizes for this matter. I found the subject matter offensive and assume you would as well. Just know that they did not come from me. I would never send emails of this nature nor would I send unsolicited emails in any form.

God Bless and have a great day.

Still Learning New Things, Hope your are too.

Just so you know, I finally got the server working so I can now work on the new site I want to do. I also want to tell you about the experience I had with my computer not to long ago.

I got the idea to exchange computers with my oldest son. His is actually better than mine and since I use mine more, figured it would be a good idea. Don't get me wrong, there wasn't that much difference. I went from a 1200 CPU to a 1300 CPU, just a little more ram, probably a better graphics card and a few extra USB plugs. Not really enough to matter. But I wanted to do it. Anyway, here's what happened. I exchanged harddrives as well. Mine had all my stuff on it and it's larger than the one he has. Well, if you've ever done something like this, you know that it's too much change for windows to handle, so I had to do a fresh install. Which means I lost everything on that drive including my pages for this site. Now thissite is designed to use a template, and for those that don't know what that means, I use one page to make design changes to the rest of them. Have you ever used one of these on a site before? I really like it like that. It makes all the pages look and act the same. Plus, all I can edit on the regular pages is where the content is. I don't run the chance of messing up the rest of the page since I have it like I want it, at least for now.

Anyway, I had to find a way to make a new template, and since I've never done it before, I had to learn pretty quick. For starters, I need to say that I use Macromedia's Dreamweaver to update my pages, even if you don't use this program, I don's see why this won't work on any html editing program. I did all kinds of searches on the net for lost template using Dreamweaver, and found one page that I thought might actually work. Nope. Don't get me wrong, I was glad I found it, it made me have to think about what I was doing, but all it did was make all my pages look like my index page.

Here's what I finally figured out to do. I took the code from a child page, which is what the pages are called that uses a template, and transfered it to notepad. Wherever I found Instance in the code, I changed to Template. I then transfered that code to a new page and saved it as the template for this site. It worked perfectly. I realize some of you may already know this stuff, but this is new to me and anytime I learn something new, I want to share what I've learned. Maybe it will help some one in the future. I hope this helps someone out there, but what I hope more is that no one has to go through what I did.

Have a great day and God bless.

Have you ever....

Have you ever tried to teach yourself something new?

That's what I'm doing now. I'm trying to teach myself PHP. For those of you that have no idea what that is, join the club.

Seriously, PHP, means PHP: Hypertext Preprocessor and is an HTML-embedded scripting language. And yes, I got this from another site, PHP: General Information Manual. After all, you really didn't expect me to know that right off the top of my head did you?

Now that we have that out of the way, let me try to explain as best as I can what that says and since I have no idea what I'm doing, I'll probably get it wrong. PHP is a supposedly simple way to use a database to run a website. For example, all these forums that are such a big hit are all run using the PHP language.

Now, I'll be the first to admit that I might not be the brightest light bulb in a box, but I'm by no means the dimmest. But this stuff makes me feel like an absolute idiot. With some help from a few wonderful friends, I've managed to teach myself html, how to take apart and put back together computers, find almost anything I want on the internet and a few other things. I have people trying to help me do this as well, but it seems like it's going right over my head. If I was trying to swim, I would definitely be drowning!!!!!

I love learning new things and figured this would be no different, boy was I ever wrong.

I figure by now, you're asking yourself why I want to learn this when it's giving me such a hard time. The reason is actually pretty simple, I want to build a website that is run like a forum, only it will be slightly different. People will be able to come post on this site, hopefully, if I ever get it finished, which is why I need PHP to run it. Plain html just won't do it. Believe me, if it would, I wouldn't be sitting here bald from pulling my hair out from trying to learn this.

I've done all kinds of research on this. I've checked html, JavaScript, and PHP. PHP is the only website language that will function like I want.

I'm supposed to be studying php right now, but decided to come here instead and let you know that I'M GOING CRAZY from trying to learn it.

No, this isn't a cry for help from anyone, just a chance to fuss about what a headache I'm getting. I never in my wildest dreams thought I would have this hard of a time learning this. I mean, after all, I've taught myself a lot of other things. What makes PHP so different? It's not like it's brain surgery or being a rocket scienctist.

Oh well, I guess I've ranted enough for tonight. I really need to get back to PHP for DUMMIES. I'm determined to learn this and I promise not to kill anyone just because I've lost my mind because I can't understand this stuff. I'm not that far gone yet, just getting there.

I hope you have a great weekend and God Bless.

OHHHH, The Joy of Helping People

I have a friend, who, for the most part, I don't mind helping. He's a nice guy, just young. He's always asking for help. I forget what I was like at that age. hahaha After all, it's only been 22 years for me. Anyway, I helped him set up his blog today. While I think blogger.com has a great service, it can be frustrating getting every little thing correct so it will work perfectly. Between the two of us, we finally have it done. I guess things could be worse, I could have no friends to help.

Here is another friend that I want to help. He just got married and has decided to start his own business with his wife. His site is CGF Creations Miami Website Design. If you need hosting or a new site, this is the person to contact. I've been watching him do this for years now. I can guarantee you won't be disappointed in his work.

I hope you have a great day.

In Case You Haven't noticed.....

I'm as pro-military as they come. I've seen some of the things these brave men and women have given for us all. It is never an all or nothing situation. Each and every person that has served in the military has given something. I'm reminded of that every time I try to take for granted the freedom I enjoy today. They have given blood, sweat and tears, and some even have given the ultimate sacrifice, there lives. If you know someone that has served in the military, please shake their hand for me and say "Thank you." If you get a chance, please go to this page and read it. I promise you won't be disappointed. It's a great story.
Passing of a Generation

I hope you have a great day and God Bless.

FREEDOM by Mary Hall (printed with permission)

Freedom has so many meanings to so many people. It can mean freedom of speech to one, where it is freedom of religion to another or a different meaning altogether.
There are people out there making their opinion known as to how they feel things need to be done to keep our freedom, (but the only way they lend a helping hand is to criticize) but then they turn right around with the same breath, and criticize the fact that there are men and women out there who, everyday, defend the very freedom they want so badly.
Every day men and women defend this great land so these people can praise and also criticize. But yet the men and women who defend their freedom don’t get the credit or support they so rightly deserve.
For years the military has been spit on, beaten, shot and well, just disowned. Just for going out and doing what they strongly believe in and want to stand up for.
It took something like 9/11 to have our Great Country open its eyes to what’ was really going on, and see that our very freedom is in jeopardy and yet there are still people out there who would give a soldier a slight smile or even the time of day.
Parents have lost their children, both sons and daughters, wives have lost their husbands, and now with all the women in the military fighting behind the lines instead of from the home front, we now have husbands who have lost their wives, and many, many children who have lost their parents . But for some this is still is not enough , and the ones we can not satisfy are the first ones who holler and scream the loudest when something happens overseas or here in the USA.
I’m not sure what these people want from our soldiers. For it seems that they are doing the very best they can. And yet they still complain and are not satisfied. I guess if we were to loose our freedom, totally and completely, and we let the countries who are attacking us everyday come into our great nation and take over or let the gangs and major crime bosses have at it all, then maybe, they would see how good they have it now.
Stop complaining and start supporting!
You don’t have to do a lot, simply say thank you. Thank you for all your hard work and for everything you have done for me. Its really sad that all the fussing, hollering, and complaining comes more easily, than saying Thank You, or a simple smile when a solider passes by , or even standing when you here the national anthem.
I ’m not sure that people realize what the military goes through on a daily basis to keep this great country of ours free.

Do Not Use This Company!!!!!!!!

As some of you know, I'm getting into ebay to try and raise some money for this site as well as supplement the income around the house. Well to try to make things easier, I decided to join Stamps.com during there trial offer. It didn't take me long to figure out that I really wouldn't use this company, and at the time it wasn't anything they had done, it's just I could do the same through paypal and have it not cost me as much. So I cancelled the account only they show no records of me doing that and since my computer crashed (mainly the harddrive that all my information was on) I have no proof handy to show them that I did. There attitude is "So sorry, we can't help you." They wouldn't even talk to me about this. I got charged because of their mess up. I never even used the account, couldn't even tell you the sign-in information on it. If you do decide to try this company out, make sure you have it in writting that the account is closed. SAVE IT on a removable disk or something like that so you can prove that it was closed or they will charge you and mess you over so they can make money. That's what they did to me. I plan on telling everyone I know to not use Stamps.com. They will rip you off if they can and there doesn't seem to be anyway to get out of it. It is not a company I would recommend to anyone! Please stay away from Stamps.com!!!!!! That is if you don't want to be charged for services you don't use.

One of my favorite things!!!!

Have you ever watched your child sleep? Aren't they such angels during this time? They're not fussing or begging for things or saying Mommy, fix me this. They are nice and quiet and so adorable. Watching them during that time, makes me remember why I had them in the first place. hahaha Can you tell, I really do love my kids.

I guess I'm talking like this because tomorrow is Mother's Day. Not only is it a day to show your mom how much you love them, but a day to look back and see just how having children has changed your life. I can't imagine my life without them in it. They bring such joy, headaches, love, aggrevation, and a few other emotions. Having kids around can be such a wonderful blessing and I thank God for them everyday, even when they are in the headache causing mode.

Anyway, I just wanted to touch base with someone and let you know that I'm alive and well. I hope your day goes wonderful.

Have a blessed day.

Spam, How to get rid of most of it!!!!

I don't know about you, but I hate having my email fill up with nothing but garbage, otherwise known as spam. I get so tired of going through my email accounts and seeing all those ads for "Meet the person of your dreams", or "I can save you money on your mortgage" and other like emails when I know I didn't sign up for their services. It might not be so bad if they would use my real name, but most of them have a greeting of "Dear Info". My name isn't info. I mean really, if you're going to spider my site for my email, then at least get my name as well. Make the spam more personal. But, I may have actually found a way to get rid of some of that useless spam that keeps coming to my inbox. I found this wonderful little trick that changes the way my email is posted on both my sites. The amount of spam I get for this email account has actually dropped by 50% and I don't get any spam at Staying Healthy the Natural Way. I wasn't sure if this little script would work, but it has. I don't mind sharing it with you if you don't know about it, but I would prefer not posting it here for fear that all those unscrupulous emailers find a way to work around it. There's no way I could charge anything for this little tidbit of info since I didn't come up with it. All you have to do is ask and it's yours.

I hope you have a blessed day.

Ponders of a Weird Mind (Mine)

Have you ever noticed that you think of great ideas when it's the most inopportune times? Usually when you don't have access to a computer. My ideas usually come to me when I'm driving down the road. Figures. And since I have my 4 year old with me, the idea never stays long enough for me to complete it. Today is actually an exception to this for a change. I heard on the radio about someone needing someone to do some work from home and this is a local gentleman. He needs a few odd jobs done, typing, editing, answering phones when he's gone, things like that. I thought to myself, "I can do that." So when I got home I called him. We hit off as if we've known each other for years. He'd say an idea he wanted to do and I'd come back with a way to make it just a little bit better, or he'd enhance an idea I had. It's funny how things like that work. I know God had a hand in this and this is why. I was almost home when I heard his ad, and the only time I really listen to the radio is when I'm driving. Come to find out, he had tried to send his ad by email twice and both times it was returned to him because it couldn't be delivered. He told me he figured he'd get a busy signal when he tried to call, but the call went through without a problem and I actually had a piece of paper to write his number down on. See, things can work out so right when God has a hand in things.

Here's some more good news. I actually got paid for working on a friends computer. It wasn't much, but the fact that I did is enough for me. At least for right now. One day, maybe I'll have my own computer shop open and get to do this all the time. I love tearing things apart to see if I can put it back together just to see how it works.

I'm going for now. I really need to clean this house. I hope and pray you have a great day and may God shower his blessings on you and your family.

Okay, it's started

I'm going to do something I never thought I would do. I'm going to talk about Survivor. As all of you know James got booted last night. I have to apologize for him, since he's from Alabama and I am as well. In my opinion, he made us Alabamians look bad. He said he could do this, he said he could do that and ended up not being able to do any of it. I had such high hopes for him since he's a redneck just like I am only to be disappointed. Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying I could have done any better. I do know that I wouldn't have said I could do something if I actually couldn't. Anyway, I had to get that off my chest. I'm done now. Thanks for reading.

I hope you had a blessed day. Livi

Well I'm finshed with my new site, at least for now!!

I've been working on my newest site for a while now and have finally finished it where I'm not ashamed of people going there to have a look around. If you want to go and see what I've been doing, the url is www.naturalyhealthy.com and it's the first site I've completely done on my own. Yes, I'm bragging again!

I also want t apologize for not posting anything here in a while because of it. I've kept up the work that's needed to run the program from this end, but have let this slide to hurry and finish the new site, which I probably shouldn't have done. Now that's it's done, I should be posting away. I hope you'll come visit to read them.

I hope your days are filled with God's blessings. If you ever need a friend to talk to, I'll be here.

Valentine's Day... What a Joke!!!

Okay, before any of you assume that I'm just another single person that hates Valentine's Day, let me enlighten you. I have been married for almost 20 years now, and to the same man on top of that. The reason I dislike this day is because people have made it the one day that you are supposed to go out of you way to show your love or affection for people you care about. What about the other 364 days that are left? Are we supposed to just let them go as if they don't exist? My husband and I have never celebrated Valentine's Day in all the years that we've been married. That probably sounds weird to some of you, but we both believe that you should show your love everyday of the year. Here's another reason why we don't fool with celebrating this day. One year, I wanted to have every color of wild morning glory planted in the yard. I was able to find everyone except white. My husband saw one growing on the side of the road and brought it home to me that evening. That was the sweetest thing in my opinion. It didn't cost anything, except just long enough to dig it up. I was really touched by that. And yes, he was able to keep it alive all day even though he had taken it to work with him. I'll be the first to admit that he doesn't do things like that often, but when he does, it means more to me than anything he could have bought!!! I guess I'm just old fashioned like that, I would rather my husband spend some time and get me something I really want instead of spending money on things that usually get put up only to be gotten out on occasion. And yes, the flower did die come fall as it was supposed to, but I was able to get some seeds from it and was able to keep that memory alive for several more years. Why celebrate one day a year that we love each other when we can celebrate everyday that we love each other? Doesn't that make more sense? To me Valentine's Day is a way to force someone to show they care. I would much rather it be spontaneous. I'm sure not everyone agrees with me, but that's okay. I would much rather not celebrate Valentine's Day and have my husband do stuff like that for me when I least expect it. It ends up meaning more to me in the long run!
Okay, I'll get off my soap box for now and with you a great day. May God's blessings always be with you.

Just a little info

Have you ever booked your hotel room through one of those supposed discount sites? My husband and I are planning our vacation now even though it's months away. I went to those sites and after a lot of time looking, I found that I can usually get a better deal going through the hotel's site that I'm interested in staying at. For example, last year we went to Panama City Beach and ended up saving almost $10 by going through www.hojo.com This year, I found that most of the discount sites charged more than the hotel's site again, usually only a few cents but it's still cheaper not to go through them. Don't get me wrong, I actually did find one site that had one cheaper rate, but they had all been booked. Go figure!!!

Now on to another matter. I'm designing myself a new site. I'll be selling some of the best nutritional supplements on the market. I actually got my mom to try them and she loves them!!! I never thought I'd talk her into it, now she can't remember why she hasn't tried this stuff sooner. I have the name already set up and as soon as I get the site fixed, I'll be posting it here so you can go check it out. I promise, this stuff really works great. If you could hear all the testimonies that I've heard, you would be standing at my door beggin me to let you buy this. I've yet to hear anyone say a negative thing about these products, myself included.

Anyway, I'm going to go for now. I hope everyone has a great week. May God bless you all!!!

New Site to Check out!!!

I want you to know that this is the first time this has happened to me. Someone with a related site has actually come to me for a link. I was so thrilled. Plus with the place being in my home state, made me doubly proud to have a link to it on my site. Children's Rehabilitation Engineering Team I did go visit this site and found it to be a great place. The purpose the Children's Rehabilitation Engineering Team is to serve people with disabilities in the Alabama counties of Mobile, Baldwin, Choctaw, Clarke, Escambia, Monroe, and Washington by assisting them with their adaptive technology needs. And while I hate to admit it, this is something I haven't thought of. But then neither one of my children need this service. I'm just glad that someone out there did think of this and took measures to see it taken care of.

I hope everyone has a blessed day. May God always be with you.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!

Well a new year is here. I won't go into my Christmas and New Year except to say that I had a great time and got a few things I wanted. I hope you can say the same thing.

I just had to tell you that I'm learning my paintshop program now, so maybe I can actually put out some pictures that I've done. I'm not learning this on my own though, I have a great friend helping my out. As soon as I find out the site where I signed up, I'll post it here. This gentleman that is helping me has been great and I'm sure if you sign up for one you will get the help you need as well.

I'm going to go for now, I have my nephew over here for the day and between him and my two boys, I have my hands full.

I hope you have a great 2005 and my God bless you always.
